Prose Meets Poetry, with Lucy Wadham and Sharon Black Dates: Fri 23 – Fri 30 September 2022 Cost: £380 course + 615€ (accommodation and meals) Join Faber author Lucy Wadham and Pindrop publisher Sharon Black for a week combining poetry and prose to enrich the craft of both. Morning sessions 10h -13h will consist of writing prompts and shared writing time and end with an optional prompt to work on during the day. Afternoon sessions 17h - 18h will be for feedback: depending on the number of participants, we will either focus on short pieces of work from everyone, or work on a rota basis. The maximum number of participants is 14. Lucy and Sharon will also be able to offer 1-1 mentoring to anyone who has work-in-progress they would like professional feedback on for an additional cost.
Lucy Wadham teaches Creative Writing at Cambridge University’s ICE and the National Centre for Writing She is the author of three novels and a bestselling memoir, 'The Secret Life of France,' all published by Faber. ‘Heads and Straights,’ another memoir was published by Penguin in 2013. She has several TV scripts in development and her debut poetry collection 'Fold' was shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney First Collection Prize 2020. Sharon Black is from Glasgow and lives in the Cevennes mountains of France. She is the aithor of two full poetry collections, 'To Know Bedrock' (Pindrop, 2011) and 'The Art of Egg' (Two Ravens, 2015; Pindrop, 2019) and a pamphlet 'Rib' (Wayleave Press, 2021). Her third and fourth full collections will be published in 2022 with Vagabond Voices and with Drunk Muse Press respectively. In 2016 she took over as editor and publisher of Pindrop Press.
